# V2.8.2

v2.8.2 makes Tell conversations durable at the project level and corrects the
published Xprompt package dependency name.

## Durable Tell Workspaces

`tell init` creates a private `.tell/arena` workspace that stores immutable,
canonical conversation turns. Subsequent Tell invocations reopen that history
automatically and publish a new turn only after execution completes.

New workspace commands provide bounded, provider-free inspection and explicit
state management:

* `tell history`
* `tell transcript`
* `tell context`
* `tell compact "summary instruction"`
* `tell clear`

Named legacy sessions migrate once into a compatible canonical reference while
leaving the legacy source untouched. `tell --transient "prompt"` uses the same
selected context without publishing conversation, configuration, or session
state.

Canonical workspace records hold semantic messages and tool relationships only.
Credentials, provider envelopes, headers, usage, timing, rendering data,
execution traces, and absolute paths are excluded from canonical hashes.

## Package Resolution

The Xprompt Composer package is `cognesy/xprompt`. Internal package metadata
now uses that registered name consistently, fixing installs that previously
attempted to resolve the nonexistent `cognesy/xprompt-php` package.

## Upgrade Notes

Existing Tell commands remain stateless until a project is explicitly
initialized with `tell init`. Use `--transient` for one-off experiments that
must retain the current workspace context without recording the result.
